"Helping Individuals Achieve A More Independent and Fulfilling Life."

Message From PATH

Hello Everyone,

I wanted to take this opportunity to  express my thoughts about recent events.

I am deeply saddened by the tragic murder of Mr. George Floyd and the past and continuing loss of lives to racism and police violence, and I know that you have all been enormously impacted by the most recent events around the country. We recognize that many of you were already struggling with the significant impact of COVID-19 on your loved ones when this news hit, creating additional overwhelming pain, anger, and grief.

PATH steadfastly supports our community members who have spoken out and taken a stand against violence and racial injustice and its devastating impact on communities of color, families, and individuals. We remain optimistic that nonviolent protests will ensure accountability for those responsible for these devastating murders and move us further toward more just and equitable policies and practices in our nation for all.

At PATH, we continue to work towards addressing the systemic health inequalities created by a person’s social, economic, and community context, often fueled by racism and discrimination. We have partnered with other community organizations to develop PATH@1919 to add more services and supports that address the social determinants of health to meet the needs of our growing and diverse community. We also are committed to working with all of our city partners to address systemic racism in Philadelphia wherever we may identify it.

Please stay safe, be well, and rest assured that we continue to monitor this situation for any resulting safety issues for our staff and the individuals we serve. Together, we will face these challenging times and continue to meet our mission. Thank you for all you do to support each other and our entire PATH family.

Warmest Regards,
Betty
President & CEO
